Demonstration of Designs from the Handbook for Flower Shows
Speaker:  Mary Lynn McCree holds a certificate in Design from the NY Botanical Garden and was an event and wedding designer for over 30 years.  She is a member of the Chappaqua Garden Club and the Stonington Garden Club, a past President of the CGC and served on the boards of both clubs! She is also an Accredited NGC Judge and a member of judges’ councils in both NY and CT, and has been the featured speaker at many garden club events in both states..  She will demonstrate three different floral designs that will be featured in our next club Flower Show, Angular, Reflective, and Line Mass.

Speaker: ​Bethany Naccarato is an author, gardening educator, and owner of Blueacre Garden. In 2023, Bethany launched her social media presence, @BlueacreGarden, on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, where her followers learn best practices, solutions to common issues, and other advice to help them achieve the gardens of their dreams. Today, Bethany has over 120,000 followers across her social media channels and has been featured in The New York Times. She loves gardening at her home, "Blueacre," where she grows a variety of organic heirloom vegetables, and annual and perennial flowers including peonies, zinnias, and dahlias.

"I Like it, I Love it, and the Deer Don’t Eat it"
Speaker: Adam Wheeler, Production & Horticultural Manager,  Broken Arrow Nursery, Hamden, CT
​Adam has worked for Broken Arrow since 2004 and has a degree in Urban Forestry and Landscape Horticulture. He is a past recipient of the Young Nursery Professional Award from the New England Nursery Association. He loves to share his passion for plants through photography and educational outreach and is an adjunct lecturer at Naugatuck Valley Community College and the Berkshire Botanical Garden. He also collects rare and unusual plants, loves rock climbing, and growing giant pumpkins competitively. It promises to be a fascinating presentation and the Pound Ridge Garden Club is fortunate to have him as our August speaker.
